Are you using plumber's tape on the threads?

  • Nancy Nancy on Nov 19, 2017

Plumber’s tape is also known as ‘teflon’ tape!

Where is the leak? If it is from the threaded part of the showerhead you probably do need to put more teflon tape on the pipe before you install it or you need to position the seal in the s/head. Most have an o-ring where it meets the pipe from the wall.

If it is from the showerhead itself then your water control valve is leaking and that will need to be repaired.

Be sure you didn't cross thread the screw area, when you put the head back on. Also, you may want to get a assortment of gaskets, to put in first, before you put the head back on. Best wishes, J.

use teflon tape on all threaded areas. Do not overtighten.

I agree with Archie. Teflon tape on the thread. Wrap it around the thread clockwise. If from the head itself then the shower valve will need to be repaired.
