Put a folded towel over the wax then iron the towel. Use more then one towel for big jobs.
Hi Diane, first scrape off all that you can with the back of a knife, THE use the folded towel or paper towel and iron over it. Be sure to switch towels regularly, you don't want to put wax on the towel back onto the rug. Also, if there is color in the wax you may have to deal with that by cleaning that part by hand. Vinegar or hydrogen peroxide should help with that part, but be sure to check in an inconspicuous place before using either of them. Wishing you the best.
Use a warm iron and a brow paper sack.
The best and easiest way to remove wax from a carpet is to use an iron and a paper towel. Warm the iron to a medium heat. Lay the paper towel over the candle wax. When the iron is warm enough to melt the wax, slowly rub it over the paper towel. The oil and wax should absorb onto the towel. If it doesn't work out the first time, maybe your iron isn't warm enough. Make sure not to get your iron too hot.
take some brown paper ( old paper bags will do) place 2 layers paper over wax, use DRY iron on med to go over paper where wax is.paper will soak up wax , keep moving paper til wax is gone! works on crayon also. Good Luck. JeanneNewman, Northern MI
