Add a wire ledge around the shelves to keep stuff in view and on the shelf....https://restauranttory.com/l/nexel-shelf-ledge-36-w-x-4-al436ep.asp?gclid=CjwKCAiAqIHTBRAVEiwA6TgJw11Vc1vGsj4ho6JhVHaiwfYzeI6Up7rYj7_8dGEHXLW3OmR-hAw5MBoCDvAQAvD_BwE you could make your own from strips of some heavy wire screening.
How about wire baskets so you could still see what is in them? They currently are selling various sized wire baskets at Walmarts in our area of North Central Texas reasonably. Some are even a copper color and very attractive. They may even be available online. They seem very lightweight.
The only other thing I thought of, was placing some type of hardware piece next to each end of the shelves, say a few inches above the shelf bottoms. Then hook and stretch a bungee cord around the items to hold them in place while you are traveling.
Hello Mary — it sounds like you need a shelf that has a lip on it to prevent those items from falling off. You can find wire shelving with a lip online or perhaps you can rig up something yourself. Good luck!
you could put a board on top of the shelf too to keep things on it.
You wouldn't need to put anything thick on it, just a thin wood or plastic, You could put quarter round on the edge of what you put on the shelf to hold things up there easier. That should sturdy things up to keep them from tipping off the shelf.
use clear baskets to hold your items, you will be able to see what is in them that way and label the outside for a even easier idea
add a lip to a board
