well -- you're going to laugh at this ,, and it's not really a 'recommended' option for most applications -- but I wanted a sheer curtain over a VERY large window that is part of my 'sun room' and I didn't want to put a rod into the aluminium/vinyl clad frame. I used HOT GLUE! obviously the top of the curtain is stationary -- but I can use clips to bring back one side or the other, and a 'tie back' to bring together in the middle if I want. It's been up at LEAST 10 years -- and I just 'shake it' out to dust it! But it's a sheer -- and has virtually no weight to it ...
Use Hooks in your ceiling, or nail it to a board and then hang the board, wherever needed.
Curtain Track or Curtain Wires.....
Thanks, I don't think I have the skill set for a job like that lol
Let me know what YOU come up with!! I was thinking maybe some sort of attractive ribbon or cord if the top has 'holes' and not a Rod pocket/sleeve and you could hand from the ceiling -- but it wouldn't slide -- you'd have to clip/tie back like mine --
I have seen some use a heavy cord for this purpose but the drapes eventually sag from the weight. You can purchase some pretty attractive rods these days.
