Hanheld steamer and a heated squirt bottle of half water and half whit vinegar. Draw X’s on the wallpaper. Soaked with the vinegar water then run the steam over it. Most of it come right off, but you may need to scrape some with a puttyy knife. Reallly not difficult. Good luck!

Best Way to Remove Wallpaper
Score with the tool made for removing wallpaper. Then mix water and cheap fabric softener in spray bottle. Spray, let sit for a few minutes then scrap. Most will come off in large sheets. Much cheaper than the remover spray and works like a charm.
If it is tearing/destroying your sheetrock when you remove the wallpaper, it usually means the sheetrock was not prepped before applying wallpaper. When I have run into this situation, I finally had to rent a steamer used for wallpaper removal. It's slow and tedious, but you will be more likely to save your sheetrock.
I am a steamer! Score score score! And rent the pro steamer. Here is what I do.

As SandyG said, if it's tearing the sheetrock, it wasn't applied properly. Rent a steamer. Otherwise, you'll make a mess of your walls.
