How do I get gum off of one of my nightgowns?
its a rayon blend nightgown, and I love the color, but did realize that gum was in our clothes washer it stuck in one place before I knew it and it went thru the dryer too. Can anyone help me remove gum from my clothing?

How do remove chewing gum from clothes or blankets?
my son got chewing gum on a blanket and I don't want to wash it until I remove the gum but I don't know how to get it off without cutting it out.
Use oil to rub into the gum. I would try a little on the fabric in an inconspicuous place first to be sure that the oil will come out. Oil will cause the gum to disintegrate and it will wash out easily once it is fully rubbed into the gum. This will also remove sap from a garment.

Goo Gone. Or peanut butter.
I agree with Delle.....I always use peanut butter.
freeze the item...the gum should peel off...
Since it has gone through the dryer already, it may have set due to the heat.
However, you could try putting the nightgown in the freezer. Once frozen, the gum should begin to crack off.
You are welcome Michele. I learned this when we were stationed in Germany and my kids were small. We were at a picnic, my 9 y.o. got gum in her hair and came crying to me and I thought I would just have to cut it out. A friend quickly said, "Wait, I can get it out!" She reached into her lunch sack and pulled out a peanut butter sandwich. Took out a pinch of peanut butter, and rubbed it into the gum. Then with a bottle of water, she rinsed it right out!" Rescued!
