Have you tried tie-dye? It is an older technique from the 1960s. A bit dated, but still quite usable.
I had 4 unused full sized sheets that I used to make curtains for my 2 dining room. I wanted these to be on rings so I could open and close them easily. I have a picture of how I fastened the curtains to the rings and need to show that as it is easier to see what was done. I'll be back!

EASY!
1. Measure the finished curtain dimensions you want and add 2" to bottoms for the bottom hem; add 6" to tops for rod casings; add 2" to each side for side hems.
4. Hem both sides 1" on each side, hem the bottom 2"
5. Make casing for top by folding the top down 3" and then stitching two lines for the rod to go through.
