I read that you can throw 1 or 2 denture cleaning tablets in your toilet to keep it clean. Let them sit and fizz overnight, if possible.
Hi Sandra, Here's a link that may help: https://www.thespruce.com/hard-water-stains-in-the-toilet-2719033
Good luck!
The ring is a build-up of various minerals, etc. Help prevent the build-up by the constant cleaning provided by products placed in the back of the toilet and released with each flush, such as Kaboom. For any build-up that stubbornly persists, the best product I've found is CLR brand that removes the worst culprits, (C)alcium, (L)ime, (R)ust that can be found at Lowe's and other similar stores. CLR also is good for removing rust from a variety of surfaces (rust rings left by metal cans on floors, etc.) Good luck!
The works toilet cleaner..cheap at walmaert
Boy can I sure relate to this problem. We too have very limey water and I constantly battle lime build up in our toilets and I have three bathrooms. If you lime buildup isn't extreme you can just pour white vinegar in your bowl and let it sit all day before scrubbing out. Mine however need special care since I tend to let my toilets go longer then I should between heavy duty cleanings. I just hate doing it. I've tried pretty much everything on the market from scrubbing bubbles to Kaboom. By the way I find the Kaboom works great when dealing with the lime deposits in our tubs and shower stall unit but for our toilets I have found that using Lime away works the best for me. First turn the water off to your toilet at the turn off valve located on the water line going into you toilet. It's usually located under your toilet tank in the middle of water line going from your tank to the wall or floor. This will prevent the tank from refilling and filling up your bowl. Then flush your toilet once it stops running you will have to flush it one more time to empty the water from your bowl that the tank had in it before you first flushed it. This should completely empty your toilet bowl. Note: When you turn your shut off valve be careful not to tighten it to much or you could damage it same goes for when you turn it back on. If you bowl slowly leaks water back in it as your cleaning then your valve is either not turned completely off or your valve is damaged. You can tell this by looking into the tank and if it's leaking water in the little fill hose you have a leak at the valve. Once your bowl is empty then just generously spray or squirt your lime away all over the inside of your toilet bowl and walk way for about a half and hour. I then use a kitchen nylon/plastic pot scrapper (obviously only used for this purpose LOL) and and rubber gloves to keep the lime away from burning my hands and I scrape off all the loosened lime off of the bowl. You can do this step again if needed but you can also just use your pumice stone to get the rest of it. At this point I usually just want to get the job done and get my head out of the toilet as soon as possible so I opt to use the pumice stone over doing the lime away routine again. This process works and is easiest on your body, joints etc. but as far as fast it isn't but I've never found a faster way to do it nor one that is easiest on me so far. And I have literally spent hours cleaning a heavily lime deposited toilet in my husbands bathroom using just a pumice stone only so this lime away method is by far the best. He never tells me when his toilet is getting bad! ARG! I haven't found any chemical so far that out does Lime Away for getting those mineral deposits off our toilet and I've literally tried them all. If you find one I'd sure appreciate it if you'd share what you used and how you did it. Good Luck, I hope this helps you!
try plain coke
Pour some bleach in the bowl before you go to bed at night. Flush in the AM.
If yo have hard water, maybe you need to get a whole house water softener. Your faucets, water heater and shower head will be clogging also.
