The folks across the street from me own a paint store. They painted a single wide mobile home they use for an office a few years ago. I walked over and asked what kind of paint they were using. I was told it was regular latex. The key was a good prep job before putting painting. They pressure washed, sanded and hosed down the mobile first. It still looks good.
I used E-B Emulsa Bond. I bought it online. It's a an exterior latex paint additive that improves adhesion. I have used it on two different types of siding and it has lasted completely for several years.
From my experience there is no paint that will stay on vinyl siding for any length of time.
