I did! When we moved into our home, it had the dark, 70's paneling. (our living room looked more like a cave) I cleaned the paneling, plugged all the nail holes with spackle and sanded the area and then used Kiltz. I let the Kiltz dry and painted another coat. After the second coat of Kiltz was dry, I painted two coats of a household latex paint. Sure did brighten up the room! I've seen some people use spackle to fill in the panel grooves but I didn't go to all that trouble but that is an option also.
I painted the room about 3 years ago and still looks good. Good luck!
Yes! I did in one of my projects. Wash Walls and use satin color paint with primer in it, then pain the trim and doors white and you have a new look🧐🤓
yes, clean, dry, use a good primer ,allow to completely dry and paint
Yes definitely. One coat of KILZ primer paint and then what ever color you like. I did this over cheap 70s paneling in my basement. It turned out great!
I‘ve done it. And it has lasted for years! Clean the paneling thoroughly and wipe down with vinegar. I used a coat of Kilz before painting the wall color.
Yes -using a primer is recommended.
