Maybe try your Brillo on a warm oven. Also, if you can stand it, you can put a bowl of ammonia in a closed, cold oven overnight. In the morning toss the ammonia out and wipe down the oven.
Hi Sylvia, Try sprinkling baking soda in the oven and then spritz it with vinegar. Let it set for a half hour. Then wipe it up with a clean damp cloth. Recently I found a recipe for making homemade cleaner. It's so easy. Peel 2 oranges and put the peels in a jar. Add vinegar in the jar until the orange peels are covered. Refrigerate for at least 2 weeks, up to 2 months. (I have a batch in my fridge right now.) Then remove peels and put vinegar in to a spritz bottle. You can use it for any cleaning project in your home. It works great and smells good too.

How to Clean a Self Cleaning Oven
I agree with the baking soda and vinegar. That's what I use to clean what my self-cleaning oven missed. If you have a gas oven you shouldn't use ammonia. If you want to be safe, check with the manufacturer.
I found an awesome recipe on here. Easy to make! Mix 1/4 cup of dish soap, 1/2 cup of lemon juice, 1 cup of vinegar and 1 1/4 cup of water. Put it into a spray bottle, and spray your oven and racks too with it. let it sit for an hour or so. Then, use a slightly abrasive pad to scrub it off. Still a bit of scrubbing involved, but my oven looks great, and I didn't have to put up with the fumes that are really hard on me. Yes, still a bit of scrubbing involved, but the result was worth it. (and not half as much scrubbing as I thought there would be!) My oven had been REALLY bad from all the cooking and baking over Christmas!
going to try this and the cleaner too. I know vinegar is a good cleaner, do you use white or cider? I use mostly cider all the time.
how about trying Mr Clean Magic Eraser? Or BarKeepers cleaner which is non abrasive. After I cook/bake while oven is still warm I try to scrape up any over spillage this way to avoid baked on stains in the future.
