Cultured marble has a thin finish on it that contains the design and the sealer and is made up of resin and ground particles. If it's severely damaged, there's no fixing. Consider painting or replacing.
Maybe something acidic removed the sealer? https://www.homedepot.com/s/polish%20and%20sealer%20for%20cultured%20marble?NCNI-5 abrasive cleaners can remove the sealer over time too.
Automotive compounds are mildly abrasive materials that are used to smooth and remove blemishes from cultured marble, fiberglass, paint, or clear finishes. They’re available at auto supply stores as rubbing (red, more abrasive) and polishing (white, less abrasive) compounds. Automotive compounds can be applied to the surface by hand with a soft, cotton cloth, or by using felt or wool pads on a power buffer, which requires much less physical effort.
