SOAKERS HOSE ON TIMER. MAKE SURE YOU USE PLENTY OF MULCH, AN ORGANIC TYPE. THEN MAKE SURE YOU AREN'T OVER WATERING THE PLANTS AND THAT THE TIME OF DAY TO WATER IS CORRECT. THE SOAKER GOES UNDER THE MULCH.

If you are only going to be gone a week or less, you may be able to get away with a good soaking and a layer of mulch. Mulched plants lose 25% less water than unmulched plants. Of course, it all depends on the weather. Some plants may wilt or become stressed, but you probably won't lose any.
Custom make a soaker hose. Use an old water hose. Drill very small holes in it that corresponds with the location of your plants. Example, if you plants are 5 feet apart only drill holes every 5 feet.
P.S. Remember to cap off the end of the hose.
