Big woopsy moment.
I'd try a scratch remover for use on car bodies. It's like soft-scrub but a little more aggressive.
Try using baking soda and a damp cloth and rub gently in a circular motion. You also use white (not gel) toothpaste and a damp cloth.
Try lemons dipped in salt.

Try a palm sander with the finest grit wet dry sandpaper. Wet sandpaper and sand away. Feather your way out from the area. Then carefully paint the area to match the counter. Paint this with an oil based paint marker or a polystain. Should work great. Paint may take a little artistic ability. If paint does not come out right resand and give it another shot. Good luck.
