A great primer and proper prep ( cleaning)
I highly recommend this Valspar primer- I have had great success with multiple different applications- its thicker than most primers that I have used.
Clean it first! Totally boring, but essential for a good bond for your paint. Then a high quality primer, paint your design and seal it with a non-yellowing clear coat. I like poly-crylic.
