I need to remove moss from my roof.

It's a cement-tiled roof, and the moss is getting down into and blocking my gutters, so rainwater can't get away. I suspect guano from the birds lighting on my television aerial to be the cause, but can't afford to remove the aerial.

Are you sure it is moss? It would have to have grown there for a very long time to clog your gutters. I think the guano or leaves are causing the build-up. Please check your gutters first. Clean them out either way. If it is moss, you will have to remove it also. Then spray with a commercial moss removal preparation or use a bleach solution. Either way, the guano and moss will come back. The leaf buildup can be prevented by installing leaf guards.

If you can get a plastic toy snake and move it around on your roof, it will help keep the birds away.

  • You need to get a stiff broom and a moss removal kit at a home improvement store and get rid of all the moss. To keep it gone, wash your roof with a bleach solution twice a year
