Decorating angled walls.

My apartment is the upstairs of an older house, with plaster, angled "barn"(?) walls in my livingroom. Decal murals won't adhere, and I'm not sure staples would hold either. Any ideas?

Try a starch dip on fabric instead of wallpaper paste. It's a bit messy, but the fabric will remove easier and won't damage the walls like wallpaper paste will. You could also use the peel and stick wood/tiles. They have stronger adhesives than decals do.

Have you thoroughly cleaned the walls? They may have residual grease from other tenants, so cleaning with Blue Dawn, White Vinegar and water (you can find the recipe online by searching), might help with decals/temp wall stickers.

You can also you Command Hooks, to suspend fabric from, or small nails/screws, which you can run a line of monofilament/fine wire between, as a way to safety pin/otherwise attach fabric. Rock that Boho look!
