I have a radiant heated porch in cement and topped it with wood laminate. The changes in temp caused them to shrink in spots creating gaps. Because it’s on a slab, .I can’t use hardwood for the same reason. I leave a block from the beach and the humidity just in the air causes warping. That leaves me with ceramic tiles, glued down vinyl or carpeting. I opted to put a large area rug on top of the vinyl and hope to hammer in the gaps when I have nothing else to do. Hpe this helps
OUCH. You've highlighted what my hubby is concerned about - wood warping, gaps etc. Carpet is not an option for us, so vinyl/linoleum or a really durable paint. One that deals with dogs/kids/ snow ! Maybe other answers to this thread will help you also... Thanks for your input.
