There are two fields to use when you ask a question. The first is a title field and has a limited length. The second text field has much more space so you can finish the details for a longer question like yours so we can know what to answer.
I have claw tubs in my rentals where the enamel was very worn. I went to the paint Dept. at Menards and they told me a good spray on kit designed for tubs and sinks that if you follow the instructions, is not only easy but the results were fanstastic. It has been three years now since I have done this and I have only touched up one tub in the middle.
I had a tub redone by a professional in my community. The process took 2 days and was under $500. It might be worth hiring it out since it is an antique. Some of the products for cleaning them may hurt more that help.
