I would recycle them to Habitat for Humanity Restore, or make a greenhouse or hot frame.
Strip, sand, revarnish or paint
First, if they have painted please check it for lead paint before sanding due to the danger of inhaling the dust and especially if there are small children in your home.

In my flower shop we would remove the glass then put a mirror on the back...you can use it as a wall piece for a nice country look ...or you can hang the mirror window on the wall in the center of the sofa and find 2 old shutters to put on either side. Great for country or farmhouse decorating. You could also screw a board to the sill plate as a shelf and using either silk or dried flowers hot glue them going up one side and in the corner of the shelf hot glue a bird nest in the corner with moss around it and glue some artifical eggs in the nest and hot glue a artificial bird on the edge of the nest.
Or you can leave as is and hang it on t he wall and put family photos over the glass panes. There are so many things you could do....
