1...put a magnet on it and see if it sticks. If it sticks it’s stainless. If it falls off you have a “stainless steel look”. Ie a plastic made to look like stainless. 2 Use a cleaning product for stainless steel...spray it on your cloth, rub with the stainless groves. 3 If it’s plastic...dish washing water on a cloth. I’ve also used a bit of baking soda if there is a stubborn spot.
I had purchased a fridge...stainless steel ...I thought. It turned out to be plastic made to look like stainless.
Buyer beware.
