What is best way to paint steel siding on a house?

The siding has been painted once before but due to hail, etc. it is needing to be painted again. Siding has been on the house for over 45 years.

You need to know if you are painting over latex or oil paint but washing is the first step,

Then I would pressure wash, prime any bare spots and paint with an airless spray rig
