I broke it when I was locked out because I needed to get in quickly. The hole where the knob used to be is pretty messed up as is the lock mechanism.
most of the time you can. look it over closely, how is it held in place. check the rubber gasket around it- in place? you will need to get a replacement for it. there are videos on you tube to view...find the one that is the closest to your door
If it is a standard screen, all you need is the screening material, a tool they make to help put the gasket in and new gasket (that is what I call it). Just cut the screening material a few inches larger on each side. Pull it fairly tight as you put the gasket in so that it will be tight and evenly smooth all around. When you have it in all the way, and it is how you want it fit wise, cut off the excess close to the gasket. It is not hard to do, just kind of clumsy the first time. Just take your time, it can always be taken out and redone, the cloth is fairly forgiving, as is the gasket. The first time it may help if you have an extra hand or two to get the tension right. You can do this!
Hello. There are a number of reasons why you might think you need a new screen door. If the frame is good you can always replace the screen part of the door. If the door is sticking, you can tighten the wheels at the top of the screen door. If the screen door has come off the frame, often you can put it back on and tighten the wheels I mentioned earlier. If all else fails, go to your local home store with the measurements of your current screen door and see if they have a replacement. Good luck!
Yu can purchase replacement screen along with the correct tool for pushing the screen into the sides from your local hardware store. Not expensive.
It is easy and cheap. Get the screen from someplace like Walmart and a tool and new gasket. After removing the old screen cut to size and using the tool that pushes the spline into the groove trim any leftover. Should only take you about 30 minutes.
yes
Yes its quite easy and you only need a roll of screen, screen spline and a splining tool found at hardware or home stores. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=raBRvbNSlSk
If you door screen was damaged by a pet, think about getting the pet screening which is tear proof. Take a piece of the old spline (round rubber gasket that holds screen in) with you to the store so you know what size to get.
