We have faux wood blinds that don't close tight anymore.

Personal preference for me is textured. They have more of the appearance of real wood. The smooth to me, look like a picture of wood.
Smooth hold less dirt and dust, much easier to clean.
Texture is my pick
I'm with Joanna Smith! Even smoother ones are a pain to clean let alone ones with texture. I just had 3Day Blinds install the accordion/ honeycomb blinds and I love them. No stupid cords that break and get dirty. These new ones can open from top of bottom just by lifting with a light tough. More pricey but we'll worth it. If you're good at measuring g and trust your measurements, you can order on-line and cut out the middleman cost.
