I think Glidden and Sherwin-Williams both have a low odor paint

Just shop for "low voc" paints. Any paint, hardware or home improvement center carries them. Just about every paint brand has a low voc line.

Bed Bath and Beyond carries a paint called Lullaby Paints. They are nursery paints, but I'm sure you can find a colour you like. Also Home Depot carries ECOS paint. The information on it says "ECOS Interior Atmosphere Purifying wall paint is a low sheen, protective finish that dries to a hard, durable film. Ideal for all rooms including kitchens and bathrooms. I would go to paint supply store and ask if the lid could be lifted partially so you could smell it.
