Start by warming the tape strip you want to remove using a blow-dryer set at medium. If you can get the surface temperature to about 120 degrees Fahrenheit, at which point the adhesive begins to melt being careful not to damage the wood. After applying heat for three or four minutes, use the tip of a small knife or razor blade to lift a corner of the tape strip. Continue applying heat as you gently pull the rest of the tape strip away back on to itself. Once you've removed the tape, you may need to use mineral spirits to take off the final bit of adhesive that's left. Hope this helps you get your tape removed.
For future painting I highly recommend using the green painters tape, and remove it before the paint has dried. Edges are much cleaner and you don't have paint bleeding under the tape.
Peel as much off as possible, rub the residue with goo gone or a paste made of vegetable oil and baking soda, wipe thoroughly

I would try damp cloth depending on wood try to moisten. Peel what you can then use peanut butter to get residue.
I just painted my new house (original was all flat paint!) and had several spots where small strips of blue tape were left behind. After carefully using a razor knife to separate tape from paint, I used a steamer on medium and a junk mail 'credit card' to gently scrape an edge loose to grab it. Wiped with paper towel moistened with vinegar Windex. Only spot I couldn't get was very narrow spot between door trim and corner of bedroom wall!
Thank you going to try that later today. Your help is much appreciated
