The best way is to rent a grout removal tool or get an attachment for a Dremel. Then if you're lucky you can use a small crow bar and remove the tile. But if they're on like they're part of the drywall, you can just cut out the drywall and start at the studs. Going back us green board for water areas. Good luck.
I have used an old fashioned can opener (the handheld type that makes a triangle hole) to remove the grout and it worked great. I've never removed the tile though. I found this article to get you started.

It depends on what kind of tile you are talking about. Most plastic or metal can be removed easier than ceramic. Generally speaking, remove the grout. Wetting, brushing with a stiff brush and/or heating may make the grout easier to remove. Next look for a loose tile and pry that off first, then work from the open space to remove the rest of the tiles. That is if you wish to save the tiles. In our case the tiles were put on so securely that they could not be removed without breaking them, so we just ripped the entire drywall off and replaced it.
