If the change was gradual then it's probably a sediment buildup. If it was sudden then maybe a bad element or broken dip tube. Some dip tubes are plastic and have shorter lifespans than others.
Large may not be large enough. It also may be too old, or have a leak.
What size? May not be large enough for your household. How old is it? May need to be replaced or have a leak. I have a 50 gallon hot water heater and can not run the dishwasher, washing machine and take a shower concurrently. Maybe too many things going on at one time?
Do you have teenage boys? 😬
The thermostat may need to be turned up
Turn up heat on the heater itself, and maybe have a plumber check where the settings are on each shower: there’s a mix valve behind the handle usually.
Oh, can also have a recirculating pump installed to get pipes hot before you shower. Handy when there’s a long distance between heater and shower.
