Start with a hair dryer or even better a heat gun and see if the heat will melt the plastic enough to lift it out.
Number 1 tip to newlyweds: Do not store your plastics in the oven. lol Seriously, cleanup depends on whether or not your oven is self-cleaning or not. If not, you can heat the plastic slightly and just scrape it off. if your oven is self-cleaning you can try the same, but make sure to use a plastic or nylon utensil. You might also check with the manufacturer of the oven.
NOTE: a self-cleaning oven usually locks down during the cleaning cycle and will not open until the oven is cool enough to touch.... try heating the oven to 175 or 200 degrees... check the plastic to see if it is soft enough to lift off... or try the hair dryer or heat gun...
Does your oven have a clean cycle?
This is the best way I know with the least amount of danger . Other than calling the manufacturer .
Take a spackle scraper heat it up and use it like a spatula scraping it up . Its like a hot knife in butter but the scraper has to be very hot. You will not be able to re use this to spackle after so remember that because getting it off the scraper is another problem .
Very Important!!
Be sure to open your window so no fumes linger in the house . Never use your self cleaning oven to melt the plastic off it can cause a fire and the fums can kill humans and pets.
Use ice to freeze it then scrap it off. The ice will make it brittle then it will easily scrap off.
