Surface coating for latex paint in shower area?

Our shower area was done with a latex glossy paint. It seems that would be vulnerable to water damage. Is there anything transparent I can use to cover it?

The more shiney the paint - (Like Ceramic Tiles) the more condensation you will get! May be put up Clear Plexiglass over it! It could be wiped down..
