When using adhesive for out doors it has to be a clear marine grade epoxy
Use E6000 glue
Try construction adhesive like liquid nails for outdoor use.
E-6800 glue is waterproof and a better choice than E-6000
Hot glue becomes easily brittle and does not keep its "sticky", esp outside. The makers claim they have different types of glue sticks, but I've never found one that lasts like the glues mentioned above.
