Hi Lynn, I would soak your lace curtains in Oxy Clean and water. I'm afraid bleach would be too strong for something so delicate.
Don't use bleach. It will make whites look dingy and also breaks down fibers. Soak the curtains in 1/3 bottle hydrogen peroxide to one gallon cold water. Checking every so often for whiteness. Rinse well. I wash my whites with 1/3 bottle of hydrogen peroxide in my washing machine along with detergent.
You could use Mrs. Stewart’s Blueing in final rinse. I use on my whites & also final rinse for my silver hair.
I wash them with 20 Mule Team Laundry Borax, 1/2c per load to the washing soap. If they're really yellow, you can add a bit of bluing also. Synthetic lace yellows with age, so you might have to use a non-chlorine bleach.

Use hydrogen based bleach from the dollar store, much cheaper than the brand name and works just as well.
