Hi Linda, we used cinder blocks to add some height to our clivias in the back of the garden beds and placed plastic bags inside to contain the soil while the clivias settle. It works really well. Just ensure that there are a few holes in the bottom for drainage and pack the bags tightly with soil. You can also cut up a 1/2 gallon/quart milk jug to fit on the inside of the cinder block.
