I would bundle them tightly, paint the bundle to match the wall and tack it as close to the wall as you can to camouflage it.
Cord covers can be purchased in different widths and colors.
Cord covers will hid the cords but it will also make the fireplace look strange.
I would have a plug put in at the base of my mantel.

How industrial are you? I wish you had posted a picture of the whole fireplace, because it looks like you mantel is thin. No worries, here's my option and there are so many different ways this could go:
First you move an electrical outlet to the wall behind the t.v. (this can always be covered with a picture or something down the road, but my guess the t.v. is there to stay. Then, (and here is where the options multiply), you can add a shelf to the mantel for the t.v. to sit and let the dvr, dvd, vcr, soundbar sit on the mantel. Wala...clean and cool. However, if that won't work because the mantel is tiny, you could: make the mantel wider, build a floating shelf box and attach to studs, so that the t.v. and all your extras have a solid home. The ultimate goal is to keep those cords out of sight so obviously the electric outlet will be somewhere in the center of where the back of the t.v. will be. Then, cord ties, toilet paper rolls, whatever to organize the cords in the back. Even hair ties: you gather the cords and stuff them in t.p. rolls or just tie them, but a great way to be organized is to label each cord. You'll be so happy when you need to find the right power cord!
