Water the grass well IMMEDIATELY after your dog goes. This dilutes the urine and prevents that chemical burn. But it has to be immediately.
You need to put out lime often to combat the urine affect on your yard and to keep down odors as well as disinfect! If you use your backyard, there needs to be a separate area for the dog and one for the people.
