I've seen people use unflavored drink mix as a substitute. I'd use lemon flavor so it won't stain anything.

My granddaughter makes bath bombs and toilet fizzies, etc. Here is a recipe I have given to her (not sure if she is using it or not, but she loves making these things even though she showers instead of bathes LOL).
