Hi Jmj68,
In my opinion, if you want a tint on your windows, get a film from Lowes, Home Depot or Amazon. I'm guessing that you want to keep the sun out. There are films available that do that but aren't a dark tint. You can hardly tell that they are there. If you want to use a tint for privacy, there are other film products that will make your windows look frosted. We have the film that block the sun and it works so well that we actually did more windows on other sides of our home. I hope that helps. Wishing you the best.
I would not suggest that, it is like car windows, eventually it will peel.If you need privacy or you want to block out some light use privacy film.Home Improvement store and amazon has a variety to choose from

Widow film. Comes in patterns, colors, styles.
We used dark window tint film (from the automotive dept. at WalMart) on the windows in our house about 7 years ago - still looks good! It provides quite a bit of privacy and has helped to reduce our electric bill, too. Easy to apply, just cut the film to fit the window, spray the glass with a little soapy water, apply the film to the wet glass & smooth out any bubbles with a squeegee. Keep paper towels handy to wipe up any excess water. If the film should eventually start to peel, apply a little more soapy water and smooth out as before. If you decide to remove the film all you have to do is peel it off - only a little dry soap residue is left to clean off. Good Luck!
