What type of plants for my water feature?

I am building a water feature out of planting pots and a water pump. At the top of the planters will be a smaller size pot with the pipe sticking up for the water to come shooting out. I will need some plants to go onto the pot with the probability of watering the plants and with the rain I need something that does well with lots of water/restricted at times. They need to be tall as well to hide the water spout.
