I got my first dishwasher about 8 yrs. ago and am not pleased either about the film detergents leave on glasses and other items. Are the pans meant to be hand washed? Was there a washing instruction sticker on the pan when you purchased it?

Because there are abrasives in dishwasher soaps

The mixture of aluminum and dish soap, tend to make the pans dull. The different kind of flour, sugar, eggs, vanilla, etc can change the texture of the pans. I buy Wilton non-stick pans, you spray them, and your cakes and pies, slide right out. Cookie sheets should be flat, no edges, your cookies won't burn.

it's chemical reaction - not 'abrasives' -- but you might try soaking with 3-4 tablespoons of cream of tarter/ water https://www.houzz.com/discussions/2273815/aluminum-ruined-by-dishwasher-detergent

Or try soaking 15-20 minutes in vinegar and baking soda, just remember the solution bubbles. Would possibly clean abrasion, solution works on glasses that have been scratched from dishwasher.
