Maybe he'd like a part-time job, so he has money for the summer. There are so many projects he can do, if we knew what his likes are. Does he like sports ? , Is he creative in a particular area ? He could build something over the summer. You don't mention his age, this would help a lot.
He is 14. He isn't into sports or anything specific. I just want to keep him busy this summer and I thought maybe he would enjoy a DIY project. Nothing too difficult
Yes I agree with Ebbjdi, it's difficult to advice properly with out knowing how creative he is.
If he's into woodwork, then he could make planters, bird boxes, bird feeders.
If he's good at what he does, he could sell to earn some money.
If he's keen to garden again he could earn money, either from what he produces or by gardening for others.
See what his strengths are.
