You could smear Vaseline over places you don't want the paint to adhere, or you could paint and when dry sand off the places...............
Simply do it. Sand surface lightly. Then paint with water based flat white, wait a few minutes, and wipe off with a wet sponge. The longer you wait, the more white will remain.
Thank you so much
White wash it adjusting the amount of water you add to the paint until you get the desired look.
Just thinking if this is a laundry hamper then it will getting wet towels and such thrown into it. A coat of sealer after painting would be a good idea. Not all sealer leaves a shiney finish.
