Pioneer Woman Tablecloth Turned Into Curtains
Gingham or eyelet fabric, colorful kitchen towels, or a patterned cloth tablecloth.
Beach? Mountain? Desert? -- whats your basic decor? I like 'cafe' curtains -- a valance, with two panels underneath -- still get natural light, can see out (a bit), and easy to slide open/closed. There are literally thousands of patterns/styles/colors available on Amazon, and any of the 'big box' stores -- or if you sew -- they are the easiest to make of any curtain!
I sewed together tea towels from Ikea that were about a dollar each and then sewed a small channel for a tension rod. Super each and this can even be done with no-sew tape. Really cute for a small window.
Depending on the window size. A swag curtain is nice. You could always use a tension rod for regular curtains below the swag. I really like that look.
Old aprons draped over a curtain rod are cute in a kitchen window. New use for some of Grandmas heirlooms?
One of my sisters has a cute vacation home in the Adirondacks. She made curtains out of old handkerchiefs. My daughter has a log cabin and she made curtains out of buffalo check. In the '40's tie back ruffled curtains were used in just about every style decor. They criss crossed over each other so two rods.
