How to a Repaint Multi-Layered finished Table?

I'm trying to purge all of the black in my apartment and add more bright colors to my apartment. I was wondering if it's possible to paint over the below item. With all the shiny finish (excuse my ignorance - unsure of the finish here) - I wasn't sure if a sand/prime/repaint is even possible.
Any ideas!?

I'd love to see a picture of your piece Tanesha, but you should be able to paint over most pieces even if it has a really shiny finish. You would probably need to do some sanding so the next layer of paint has something to grip onto
You can paint over almost anything!! Even laminate! I always prep with some 220 grit sandpaper (120 grit if it's laminate) sand lightly all over and then clean it with a mix of denatured alcohol and water.
