Pallets and cinderblocks

Amy Ogden-Paparone on May 20, 2014I get mine from our food store. I asked the manager if he had any pallets that he wasn't keeping and he told me, any time I see pallets out back I could feel free to take them. You should ask around by you. Many stores just have them picked up and thrown away. Might as well put them to good use! And the cinder blocks I just load up myself at Home Depot, and have my sons unload for me when I get home.Helpful Reply

Jenn on May 20, 2014You can also look in the yellow pages for Pallets, or shipping companies. They have them and want to get rid of them.Helpful Reply

Redeemwood on May 20, 2014Again... be very careful of the pallets you grab! I avoid food store pallets because they are sometimes sprayed with pesticides prior to shipping to keep bugs from the food even though it is boxed and wrapped... Look for the HT mark... etc. etc... Do your research so that no one gets sick....Helpful Reply

Kim @ Too Much Time On My Hands on May 20, 2014Ask at any grocery or hardware store. Our local ACE puts them by the dumpster if they are not marked for return and told me I can always grab any I see there. I see them for free on Craigslist a lot too.Helpful Reply

Robin H on May 20, 2014Call and check out places - sometimes they GIVE THEM AWAY for free - or a minimal fee of like $5.00 each. Ace Hardware near me charges a $5.00 but there are a few stores in Marquette, MI where you can get them free. Check out appliance stores, furniture or even bulk grocery stores. I've tried Home Depot near me and they re-use theirs. Try Super One Foods or even local hospitals and/or pharmacies.Helpful Reply

Kate McComas on May 20, 2014You can rent a van from the Home depot to take whatever you purchase there to your house like those cinder blocks. That would reduce the wear and tear on your vehicle and you could put all of the blocks you want in the van...Helpful Reply
