How do you prepare a concrete floor for painting?

I have a spare room in my house I am turning into a craft room. I would like to avoid any type of flooring and would like to just paint/seal the concrete floors that are under the carpet....this way if paint is spilled, etc., I don't have to worry about the flooring.

sure. Clean the concrete then vaccume the concrete. Make sure there are no raided areas. Then paint. Seal well after painting to avoid chips.

Patch any cracks, clean the floor with TSP and paint with durable floor paint. You can place area rugs for comfort as you wish.

One writer mentioned that they had used an industrial wax/sealer from HD and it still looked great after 5years of traffic in the house.
