How to add color?

All my living room furniture is brown, light and dark. Without buying new furniture what can i do. Coffee table and bookcase would be the easiest to paint, but not sure of color to us. Any ideas? I like the different grays and the chalk paint.

grays are not going to brighten up the room.what color is the wall?

  • Painting is definitely an easy update but also look at pops of color in pillows, throws, and on the walls, Even paint a picture or mirror frame a bright color.

Why not go with what your heart desires? A light gray chalk paint! If you want an accent wall, go with a warm gray. Change some pictures and rugs, throws and cushions with bright red, blue, or another color you love. Check your bedrooms and hallways for accent pieces you may already have. Best wishes ☺️

Since your room is fairly monotone and neutral, the color you choose should reflect something you like or the season (if you want to change colors occasionally). That said, you know your preference colors (ones that make you feel good) use them in small spots - yes: pillows, throw blankets, area rugs and artwork. I would not mess with altering the furniture at all. That gets expensive and is much more permanent than accents.

This is a great background to start with - you just are not finished. Think of his as an outfit which you are wearing. A brown suit, - a set of rust colored beads, neck tie with yellow and gold tones? Or an orange colored scarf or sweater? Or yellow, or golds. For a metal color, choose brass or gold colored. Consider purchasing an accent area rug, candles, throw pillows, a few pieces of ceramics a even some art work which high lights these colors. A lot of these things can be purchased at Goodwill Salvation Army / Church Sales. Below are some ideas. I would try accent colors before painting any furniture. Real wood, is nice. Painting tables is just a trend. It will not stay in style.

Thank you, I love the idea of rust, orange, and gold. I have an Indian blanket with those colors, I also have some throw pillows just waiting for new covers. I can get a visual in my head...thank you so much.. I love shopping at thrift stores.
