best is to make couple of eyelids and use normal cable ties to tie it down through the eyelids
You can use staples, then cover the staples with screen trim or another trim piece you like. This will finish off the piece and secure the entire piece of fabric taut. Good luck!

you can get a grommet kit at Joann's or Lowes (I got different sizes from both those stores), use the grommets to make strategic holes and then use jute or rope to tie to the pergola. If you try to staple, you may have trouble with wind catching and tearing the fabric. You want some openings to help the wind go through. good luck.
