What you choose to use depends on what kind of material the breadbox is made from. I have painted a few bread boxes--wood and metal--with spray paint and it worked fine. You could prime it first and then spray paint it.
What a fun project idea, Eileen! Is there a way to remove the rolling part to paint it? If not, why not use a paint marker- that would make being detail oriented easier!
I actually hand painted mine with craft paint (not too wet) It took several coats and I did not paint the fabric strip that allows it to roll, but painted all the rest of the inside. I then decorated the top with a painted old fashioned doily in more craft paint. Have fun.
That's such a creative idea! Love it! We are big fans of walnut stain! You can also match the stain to any wooden furniture you have in your home already.
I used spray paint enamel
on mine. It's not thick like brush on paints and comes in many colors.
