Check with a local greenhouse, they are familiar with the soil conditions around you and can probably suggest what will work for you. You could also go with potted plants on top of wood mulch or gravel or small stones. Sandy soil is a challenge to amend and keep that way, just like clay soil. You could also go up with raised beds where you can make sure that the soil is healthy and you should be able to grow anything good for your area. I hope this helps you, Nancy!
Put them in pots with manure mixed with peete & vermiculite.. Put them in a spot that doesn't get the major heat of the day
