Get some solid copper wire, drill holes in stumps and insert wire. This will kill the stump. Worked on Hackberry, Chinaberry and trumpet vine.

Try spraying THEM WITH FULL STRENGTH VINEGAR OR PURCHASE ROUNDUP.

I've had the same problem. Unfortunately, for us the only thing that worked was to dig up the entire root system. You might have to hire some strong teenagers (and pay them with pizza) to help out with this. Good luck!

Cut them as close to the ground as possible, scrape a little cup into the stump and pour on some vinegar.

Put overlapping cardboard down and cover with dirt. Or you could buy that weed cloth and lay down.

You can buy gardening strength vinegar that is 4x stronger than any kitchen variety, that is worth trying. My late husband also used to drill large stubborn stumps and insert a copper wire to kill them.

Cut them off and leave a little stump, Brush roundup on the cut end. This will make it easier to get the poison to the roots than just spraying it. This will also keep from having overspray that will kill anything around it. It may take a few applications if it already has an extensive root system. It took me almost a year to get rid of a very tenacious wild grape stump that kept putting out new shoots into the neighbors siding and trying to take over the huge lilac bush. I hope this helps you, Vickie!
